    Many boys, especially black boys, don’t ever recover from their father’s abandonment. In Barack’s life, another force filled the fracture; white mother, grandfather, grandmother saved a boy’s life; and taught him; and changed a world. Their effort epitomizes the Rites of Passage Program. Saving boys’ lives changes the world for good. In some cultures the rite of passage is clear. In others, not so much. being confirmed as a Christian, Men and boys taking part in this rite had to stare at the sun while being supported.

    This blog is about my quest to create a Christian rite of passage to manhood for my four young boys. It is my hope that other men will find this blog to be a helpful resource in creating similiar programs for their sons. A program or tradition that first and foremost honors our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, secondly makes the family his most important priority, and thirdly creates patriots. However, a Rite of Passage may be celebrated for one or two youth, or a larger group who have completed the process. The Rite of Passage requires the memorization of scripture pertaining to the various life skills, knowledge of Bible stories, and the demonstration of the life skills in the daily experiences of the student.
